Alec Giesting is a financial advisor and investment advisor representative who has more than half a decade of experience in the financial services industry. He holds both his Series 65 securities registration and his life and health insurance license. He joined Prime Capital Investment Advisors in January 2018 and became a partner in 2021.
At PCIA Denver, Alec focuses on financial planning where, utilizing his designation as a CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™), he can provide a flexible, fee-based platform while delivering transparency and consistency around what clients pay for and which services they can expect.
Alec says, “My practice is built on the pillars of financial planning because I believe this is how you provide the most sound and comprehensive advice to clients. I chose this profession to engage with families and individuals seeking guidance to achieve their ambitions while building a long-term relationship rooted in trust. In fact, the most rewarding part of my career is earning a client’s trust through the solutions I provide.”
“Only by engaging with clients on a personal level can I understand exactly what it is they want to accomplish. The world of financial advising and investing can be vast and confusing, and I aim to educate and solve problems that are presented to me by clients as we work together through the years. Life is an uncertain journey, but my mission as a financial advisor is to solve client challenges,” Alec says.
Alec grew up in Batesville, Indiana where his family currently owns and operates Giesting Financial, a wealth management company. In 2017, he graduated from Creighton University with a bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in financial planning. He serves on the Creighton Alumni Board in Denver, Colorado, which is important to him because he values his alma mater and wants to stay engaged in the Creighton community.
Alec lives in Denver and enjoys golfing, skiing, attending sporting and live music events, and spending time with family and friends.
To obtain a CFP® designation, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (in any discipline) from an accredited college or university, complete coursework on financial planning through a CFP Board Registered Program, pass the two-day exam which lasts for three hours each day, and complete either 6,000 hours of professional experience related to the financial planning process or 4,000 hours of apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements.
